Honestly I’m kind of a history buff I’ve always been somewhat interested in classic cocktails. This one happens to date back to 1888 and was originally created by Henrico C. Ramos. At one point in time it was referred to as the New Orleans Fizz. Apparently Mr. Ramos insisted each cocktail be shaken for ten minutes and actually employed “shaker boys” to rotate this awesome duty. Typically I only shake for two minutes, however If you feel up to the task give it a shot and let me know if it makes a difference!
Ingredients: 2 oz Gin, 1/2 oz lime juice, 1/2 oz lemon juice/ 1/2 oz sugar syrup, 1/2 oz single cream, 1/2 barspoon of orange flower water, 1/2 egg white, soda water, lemon and lime shavings to garnish if preferred.
- Add ingredients to ice filled shaker (minus soda of course) cap and shake for at least a couple of minutes.
- Strain into ice filled glass and top with soda
*Garnish with lemon and lime shavings (preference)
